Ray has Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (ANSD). A complex hearing disorder whereby sometimes she has difficulty understanding speech despite being on hearing aids for the past 6 years. Recently, the audiologist and speech therapist advised cochlear implantation for Ray, to improve her hearing and speech. From frequently asking “what did you say?” Ray started questioning “this has sound?”.In simple language with colourful illustrations, this book aids children to understand what cochlear implants are all about.
